Chongqing Zhitian Erzuo Company and Experts from Southwest University Visit Guangtong Group for Inspection and Exchange

On November 20, 2023, a delegation of four—Mr. Lan Changbin, Executive Vice President of Chongqing Zhitian Erzuo Agricultural Science and Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd.; Professor Huang Xianzhi of Southwest University, a post scientist in the National Sericulture System; Mr. Zhao Fulin, Technical Director of Chongqing Zhitian Erzuo; and Mr. Cai Qingqiang, an agricultural machinery engineer—visited Guangtong Group for a fact-finding and exchange visit. During the meeting, the two sides held discussions on such topics as the upgrading and improvement of artificial-feed silkworm-rearing machinery, the mechanization of seed-production operations, and the supply of artificial-feed silkworm varieties. The delegation was accompanied by Mr. Fang Dewen, Mr. Chang Wenyong, Mr. Xu Shanting, Mr. Guo Zhaoyi, and Mr. Sun Tingju from the Group.

First, Fang Dewen of Shandong Guangtong Silkworm Seed Group and Lan Changbin of Chongqing Zhitian Erzuo Company each presented an overview of their respective enterprises’ production and business operations; subsequently, Fang Dewen outlined how Shandong Guangtong Silkworm Seed Group has aligned its activities with national The “Rural Revitalization” strategy includes plans for mechanized sericulture using artificial feed and for developing rural courtyard-based economies. Lan Changbin of Zhitian Erzuo Company and Professor Huang Xianzhi of Southwest University commended Guangtong Group for its achievements in scientific and technological research and development, while expressing their mutual desire to deepen cooperation and pursue joint development: first, the clean, artificial-feed-based rearing model for domestic silkworms is better suited to scaling up factory-style sericulture on rural family farms; therefore, close collaboration with Guangtong Group is essential, leveraging each party’s strengths to achieve synergistic development; second, by integrating Zhitian Erzuo’s mulberry-leaf-fed silkworm-rearing machinery with a clean rearing approach, full-age rearing of silkworms on artificial feed can be carried out during the winter; third, both parties have reached an agreement on the future supply of complete-age, artificial-feed varieties.

Following the conclusion of the symposium, Vice President Lan Changbin and Professor Huang Xianzhi, accompanied by their delegation, visited the Institute of Industrial Research to tour and exchange views on mechanized equipment for rearing silkworms on artificial feed and related rearing practices.

During this inspection and exchange visit, Shandong Guangtong Silkworm Seed Group and Chongqing Zhitian Erzuo Agricultural Science and Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd. will engage in comprehensive cooperation across multiple areas, including the R&D of mechanized sericulture and silkworm seed production, the automation of artificial-feed rearing, and the supply of artificial-feed silkworm seeds, thereby jointly promoting the high-quality development of China’s sericulture industry.
