Jingyou (R Jingsong) is an artificial-feed-adapted silkworm variety developed through hybridization and backcrossing between Chinese-line, broad-feeding strains and Jingsong A, followed by selective breeding under artificial-feed rearing conditions. It belongs to the Chinese strain group, exhibits diapause, and has four instars.

Jinxiu No. 2 is a tetraploid hybrid silkworm variety for summer and autumn rearing; it is a two-generation (including polygenic inheritance) and four-instar strain, with Shao·Hui as the maternal parent.

The young larvae are dark brown, highly mobile, and exhibit uniform dormancy and arousal; their body color is pale bluish-white with widespread speckling. Larvae at all instars feed vigorously, enter dormancy relatively quickly, develop uniformly, and maintain a well-proportioned body shape. Mature mulberry leaves should be used to ensure that the silkworms are fully fed on high-quality foliage.

Huakang No. 3 is a new spring–rearing, high–silk–yield variety developed by the Sericulture Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences through crossbreeding Jingsong and Haoyue as maternal parents and introgressing genes that confer strong resistance to Bombyx mori nucleopolyhedrovirus (BmNPV).

Liangguang No. 2 is a summer–autumn silkworm strain with multiple hybrid origins; it exhibits uniform hatching, with dark brownish-black first-instar larvae and distinct white spots on mature larvae. It demonstrates good tolerance to high temperatures and high humidity, is not particularly demanding in terms of mulberry leaf quality, and can withstand coarse feeding.

Lu Jing × Huayang is a new spring-season, high-silk-yield male silkworm variety adapted to the climatic conditions of Shandong Province.

It generally refers to the silkworm cocoon. During the pupal stage, the silkworm is enclosed in a sac-like protective layer that does not contain the pupa itself. This protective layer comprises the cocoon shell, the cocoon layer, and the pupal lining, among other components.
