On the afternoon of June 7, Mr. He Ruimin, General Manager of Zhejiang Babe Group, and Mr. Wei Nianguang, General Manager of Guangxi Jialian Silk Co., Ltd., led a delegation to visit and exchange views with Guangtong Group. They were accompanied by Mr. Lian Haigang, Mr. Fang Dewen, and Mr. Chang Wenyong of the Group. The delegation first toured the artificial-feed production workshop to examine the current varieties of silkworms being reared on artificial feed; they then convened in the Group’s third-floor conference room for a symposium and exchange. Mr. Fang opened the discussion by outlining Guangtong Group’s current portfolio of artificial-feed-reared silkworm varieties, their characteristics, and the necessity and importance of developing artificial-feed sericulture. Mr. He from Babe Group subsequently shared updates on Babe’s current practices in artificial-feed rearing, expressed appreciation for Guangtong Group’s nationwide capacity in silkworm-egg production, and discussed potential areas of collaboration in artificial-feed sericulture moving forward, at which point the two sides tentatively agreed to explore cooperative initiatives. Both parties emphasized that, as the nation’s largest and most advanced institution in terms of scale and technology for artificial-feed rearing, Babe Group and Guangtong Group—China’s leading producer of silkworm eggs—should strengthen their cooperation in the next phase of the transformation and upgrading of the sericulture industry, forging a “seed supply–rearing–reeling” partnership with Guangxi Jialian Company through a “strong-to-strong alliance” to jointly promote the healthy, stable, and high-quality development of China’s sericulture sector.
