Silkworm Expert Feng Jiaxin Visits Guangtong

On July 8, Professor Feng Jiaxin, a renowned sericulture expert at Zhejiang University who was then 94 years old, visited Guangtong Group to share his extensive knowledge and experience. He was accompanied by relevant personnel from the group, including Lian Haigang, Fang Dewen, Yan Gengdong, and Huang Haiye. The delegation first toured the artificial-feed workshop to examine and discuss feed-based sericulture practices, followed by a visit to the group’s cold-storage facility to observe and provide guidance on acid-soaking, sorting, and refrigerated storage of silkworm eggs. Through these visits, Professor Feng expressed full appreciation for Guangtong Group’s rapid development in the sericulture industry over recent years. Subsequently, the group convened a symposium in the second-floor conference room. During the meeting, representatives from the group’s major business units engaged in in-depth discussions with Professor Feng on specialized topics such as refrigerated storage and acid-soaking of silkworm eggs, primary strain breeding, and micro-particle testing of silkworm eggs. Professor Feng provided detailed responses to each of the technical questions raised by Guangtong Group. Finally, at the invitation of the group, Professor Feng inscribed a message in his collection of papers, “Collected Essays on Silkworm-Egg Research (Continued).” Lian, the group’s general manager, once again expressed gratitude for Professor Feng’s visit, acknowledging his outstanding contributions to the development of the sericulture industry in China and around the world.
