Guangtong Group Holds a Special Symposium on Disinfection and Disease Prevention Techniques for Domestic Silkworms
On the afternoon of December 9, 2024, Guangtong Group convened a technical seminar focused on disinfection, disease prevention, and poisoning prevention in domestic silkworm rearing, with the participation of more than 50 professional technicians. To ensure the success of this technical exchange, Guangtong Group collected relevant presentation materials in advance, receiving over 30 technical papers. During the meeting, 10 representatives from among the professional technicians shared their insights, drawing on practical production experience to thoroughly analyze the implementation of detailed operational management, identify gaps and address deficiencies, summarize lessons learned, and formulate plans for next year’s work. Senior Agronomist Guo Zhaoyi discussed measures to strengthen the inspection of original seed stocks and expand the application of PCR testing, as well as preventive inspections and safeguards related to bagged moth control in seed production. Agronomists Chang Wenyong and Ju Jiewen emphasized the importance of enhancing ideological awareness and tailoring disinfection, disease prevention, and poisoning prevention measures to local conditions.
Researcher Yan Gengdong emphasized the following requirements: all breeding staff must build confidence, reorganize discussions and study sessions on the materials shared during this exchange, and revise and standardize the technical operating procedures for silkworm disease prevention and control. At the same time, the Quality Inspection Institute is tasked with providing effective guidance and oversight. Subsequently, a special lecture titled “Control Technologies for Major Silkworm Diseases Common in Yunnan’s Sericulture Areas” was delivered, systematically outlining the current situation of silkworm diseases and providing detailed explanations of the types of pesticides currently prohibited for use in sericulture. The lecture further reinforced awareness of disinfection, disease prevention, and poisoning prevention, and urged all personnel to steadfastly implement all technical measures for disease and poisoning prevention.
This conference represents a large-scale, specialized technical symposium convened by Guangtong Group in recent years. During the meeting, participants engaged in open and candid discussions on disease prevention and control as well as poisoning prevention in the rearing of domestic silkworms, sharing experiences and mapping out plans for the future. The symposium once again reinforced everyone’s awareness of the importance of strict, meticulous, and standardized operating procedures, bolstered their confidence and resolve in silkworm disease prevention and control, and energized the team for the next phase of Guangtong silkworm seed production.
