The meeting was centered on the theme of “Innovation-Driven, Collaborative Win-Win: Striving to Enhance the New Quality of Productive Forces in Shandong’s Silk Industry.” During the session, the following documents were deliberated and adopted by vote: the “Regulations on Reporting and Seeking Approval for Major Matters of the Shandong Silk Association,” the “Detailed Implementation Rules for the Shandong Silk Association’s ‘Six Major Initiatives’ to Promote Development under the Leadership of Party Building,” the “Code of Conduct on Observing Political Discipline and Political Norms,” and the “Amendments to the Articles of Association of the Shandong Silk Association.” The Association’s financial situation was also reported. In addition, the work report titled “Summary of the Shandong Silk Association’s Work in 2024 and Arrangements for Key Tasks in 2025,” delivered by President Chen Lu, was heard and reviewed.

Eight director units, along with Professor Zhang Shengxiang and other experts from Shandong Agricultural University, exchanged views on the diversification and innovative development of Shandong’s silk industry. Lian Haigang, Chairman of Guangtong Group, focused his remarks on the role of research and development of silkworm varieties fed on artificial diets in advancing the new quality of productive forces in the sericulture industry, as well as on the current work being carried out by Guangtong Group and the market feedback received, sharing these insights with the attendees.

Subsequently, Jiang Hao, Deputy Director of the Market Operations and Consumption Promotion Division of the Shandong Provincial Department of Commerce, delivered a concluding address. He noted that the organization of this conference was thorough and well-executed, the atmosphere was highly energized, and the exchanges and presentations among enterprises were sincere and yielded substantial benefits. Although the sericulture industry in Shandong is relatively small in scale, it is a distinctive local industry, and many of China’s leading sericulture enterprises are based in the province—making it a source of genuine pride. In light of the national call to foster new-quality productive forces, it is all the more important to strengthen the maintenance and development of the industry chain. Moving forward, the Shandong Provincial Department of Commerce will further enhance its support services. At the same time, he expressed the hope that, under the leadership of the Shandong Silk Association, concerted efforts can be made to further highlight and elevate the unique characteristics of Shandong’s sericulture industry.

The tightly scheduled morning session once again bolstered everyone’s confidence in driving innovation and development within traditional industries and forged a shared consensus on future growth. Participants unanimously pledged to leverage their respective strengths under the leadership of the Shandong Silk Association and to make concerted efforts to contribute to the new phase of development for Shandong’s silk industry.
