On the afternoon of June 2, Liu Yun, Secretary of the CPC Weifang Municipal Committee, visited Guangtong Group for an inspection and research tour, accompanied by Qingzhou Mayor Tian Yongquan, Vice Mayor Chen Wei, and other leaders. Fang Dewen of Guangtong Group first provided an overview of the company’s century-long history and its current operations in silkworm seed production and management. Subsequently, Secretary Liu and his delegation toured the artificial-feed silkworm-rearing workshop to observe the practices of rearing silkworms on artificial feed.

On the morning of May 13, a delegation of five, including Du Guosheng, Director of the Sericulture Bureau of Lezhi County in Sichuan Province, and Professor Huang Xianzhi from Southwest University, visited Guangtong Group for an inspection and study tour. The delegation was accompanied by Fang Dewen, Huang Haiye, and Chang Wenyong of the Group. The delegation first toured the Industrial Research Institute to observe the on-site demonstration of silkworm rearing using artificial feed; subsequently, they convened a symposium in the third-floor conference room to discuss the supply of silkworm seeds for Lezhi County’s full-life-cycle artificial-feed silkworm-farming facility.

From March 23 to 25, a single domestic export order—the largest of its kind—consisting of 401,000 sheets containing 10.4 billion silkworm eggs, was processed through inspection, quarantine, and customs clearance at Weifang Customs, which falls under the jurisdiction of Jinan Customs, before being shipped in batches to Beijing Capital International Airport. The “silkworm babies” will then be loaded onto a dedicated charter flight bound for Uzbekistan.
