Delegates from the Chinese Sericultural Society’s Academic Symposium on the Development and Utilization of Sericultural Resources Visit the Artificial Feed Silkworm Rearing Base in Guizhou

On the morning of August 10, 2025, more than 70 delegates attending the Academic Symposium on the Development and Utilization of Sericultural Resources organized by the Chinese Society of Sericulture visited the Guangtong Group’s Guizhou Artificial Feed Silkworm Rearing Base, led by Professor Dai Fangyin, President of the Chinese Society of Sericulture and China’s Chief Scientist for Sericulture. First, Mr. Fang Dewen from the Group introduced to the delegates the basic profile of the Guangtong Silkworm Seed Group, as well as the construction status and functional positioning of the artificial feed silkworm rearing base. Subsequently, accompanied by Mr. Fang Dewen and Ms. Guo Lilei, the attendees conducted a site visit to the large-caterpillar rearing facility using artificial feed, the cocoon-raising and spinning workshop, and the artificial-feed maturation workshop.

On May 22–23, an eight-member delegation from the Indian Silk Association, led by Dr. S.B. Dandin, former Vice-Chancellor of Bagalkot Horticultural University and former Director of the Central Silk Board, visited Guangtong Group for a fact-finding tour. The delegation was accompanied by Fang Dewen, Xu Shanting, Lü Peng, Guo Jiaxu, and other representatives of the group.

On April 9, 2025, a delegation of 13 leaders—including Mayor Wang Jun, Vice Mayors Chen Zhijie and Cao Chongjun, Secretary-General Lu Rong, District Chief Qi Xiao of Yizhou District in Hechi City, Director Qin Jiawang of the Hechi Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Deputy Director Wei Facao of the same bureau, as well as representatives from the Yizhou District Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Sericulture Station of the Hechi Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Guangxi Jialian Silk Co., Ltd., and the Sericulture Industry Development Center of Huanjiang Mao Nan Autonomous County—visited Guangtong Group to conduct an inspection and research on the artificial-feed sericulture project. The delegation was joined by Lian Haigang, Fang Dewen, Xu Shanting, Chang Wenyong, Xu Fuwei, Li Zhihai, and Wang Longfei from the Group.

Pooling Industry Wisdom to Map Out a New Blueprint for Shandong’s Sericulture and Silk Industry: The 11th Session of the Second Council Meeting of the Shandong Silk Association Held in Qingzhou

On March 26, amid the vibrant spring scenery at the foot of Yumen Mountain, the 11th Session’s Second Council Meeting of the Shandong Silk Association was solemnly convened. Attending the meeting were Jiang Hao, Deputy Director of the Market Operations and Consumption Promotion Division of the Shandong Provincial Department of Commerce, along with Section Chief Zhang Zhaoyu; Chen Wei, Executive Vice Mayor of Qingzhou City; Liu Changgui, President of the 10th term of the Shandong Silk Association, and Gao Yajun, Secretary-General; Li Aimei, Party Secretary and Director of the Qingzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce; as well as more than forty representatives from member units of the 11th Council of the Shandong Silk Association. All gathered at Qingshou Villa in Qingzhou to jointly discuss and chart a new chapter in the innovative development of Shandong’s silk industry.

On the morning of February 28, a 10-member Shanxi Provincial Sericulture Science Research Institute–led delegation, headed by Director Wang Dong of the institute and Director Liu Weihong of the Yangcheng County Sericulture Industry Development Center, paid a visit to Guangtong Group for an inspection and study tour. The delegation was accompanied by Lian Haigang, Fang Dewen, Chang Wenyong, and Xu Shanting from the group.
